- Promise land is a liberal hit-piece that bombed at the box office because it was full of lies and propaganda. First of all the government of the UAE, a member of OPEC, financed the film. Even ultra-liberal media outlets like Huffington Post and The NYT called Matt Damon out for shoddy facts and a liberal bias. Second of all, there were two studies done, one by PA Environmental Commission and one by the EPA, both found the accusations of elevated gas in the water supply without merit.·

You say it's proaganda but don't give examples. I live in an area where landmen came in and it was very accuratly portrayed in the movie, down to the town picnic sponsored by the gas industry. In Dimock the DEP fined Cabot for elevating the methane levels and banned them from drilling new wells to this day. The EUA was an investor, not the sole funder, and Hallaburton, and American company, has an office in the EUA and does lots of business with them. Do you have a problem with that?· in reply to 3wf1 -
Do you live in Pennsylvania because i live in West Chester ( a small town near Philly) and Need to know if my water is safe.· -
If you get your water piped in from a municiple source, you're OK. If you live in a rural area and have a well, and live within 3 miles of a natural gas well, you could have problems.
